Worship and Music

Worship is at the heart of our mission.  In ordinary times, we gather around the Word and Meal, celebrating Holy Communion weekly and tuning our hearts to God in listening, prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.

Nourished by God's grace, we are sent into the world to make known God's love.

In this extraordinary time of COVID-19 concerns, we unite in Word and Prayer. When it seems safe we offer a monthly mid-week Service of Holy Communion, practicing safety measures.

Our treasured ministry of MUSIC & SONG is limited to organ/ piano and song leaders.

The Holy Spirit calls us together as a people of God.  We open our time together hearing God's promise of forgiveness.

God speaks to us in scripture reading, preaching and song.

God feeds us at the table with the presence of Jesus Christ.

God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world.

We celebrate the gifts of the people and the many ways we can respond to God's love.  Our Sunday worship services are generally based on the traditional order of worship and flavored with varieties of music that fit our gifts and the seasons of the church year.   Contemporary forms of music are a part of a number of regular services, and a more complete contemporary form is used from time to time.  ALL ages participate in our worship, including small children.   Wednesday evening worship time is more informal and is often shaped according to seasonal themes or the needs of the community.  It varies between services of the Word, Holy Communion, Evening Prayer, Healing Services, and special seasonal services.
